Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee daily operations, coach team members, and drive sales while maintaining company standards. The role emphasizes staffing, training, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of management experience, retail background, and a proven ability to mentor staff, manage multiple tasks, and apply disciplinary actions when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Foster succession planning and promote development opportunities for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions as needed and advise on discharges.
• Maintain P&L responsibilities and control shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service and uphold Meijer standards.
