Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise team members across departments, mentoring staff and delivering exceptional customer service and sales results.

You will manage staffing, training, performance, and store operations, oversee P&L and shrink, and ensure adherence to Meijer standards while maintaining a safe, inviting shopping environment for customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are a plus.
• Clear, precise direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Experience analyzing financials to inform decisions; basic suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated leadership in safety and mentoring teammates.
• Proven ability to lead a team and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image with courteous service.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career development and promotion decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, sales, and shrink control.
• Model fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Mentor team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensure thorough training and onboarding.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and teammates.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
