Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will supervise daily activities, train associates, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Responsibilities include merchandise organization, opening/closing duties, payroll and scheduling support, and safeguarding cash and assets. This role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to company policies while maintaining clean, well-stocked areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Detail-oriented with payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy and other store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas, keeping a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
