Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, and ensure displays and seasonal areas are maintained.

You will help open and close the store, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, train Store Associates, and uphold company policies, safety guidelines, and loss prevention. A high school diploma and retail leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repeated movements and walking.
• Strong communication and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications for store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
