Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise, complete paperwork, and handle deposits to maximize profitability and protect assets.

You will stock, cashier, and perform other duties as needed while ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability and adherence to security practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, markdowns and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
