Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus and to support supervision of staff under the Store Manager. The role includes cashiering, stocking, and ensuring profitability while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities cover scheduling, training, inventory control, and adherence to security practices. The position requires reliable teamwork and willingness to manage deposits and banking tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a retail environment
• Six months supervisory experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Follow procedures to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and rotating displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory by controlling damages and paperwork.
• Assist in implementing planograms and presenting merchandise as directed.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits; sign refunds/overrides.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
