Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Installation and Service Technician to deliver hands-on field service at customer sites, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining retail equipment including Video, EAS, and RFID systems.

You will document work, track service activity, and communicate clearly with customers while upholding safety and quality standards. The role requires ability to lift, travel, and work overtime as needed, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Electronics and/or Networking, or technical military equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• General knowledge of electronics.
• State licensing as required, depending on the state.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift 50–70 lbs.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Proficient in MS Office; PC skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious with ability to work in varied retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain retail products and equipment at customer sites.
• Track service calls in a computer system, including accounts serviced, work performed, hours, and administrative time.
• Maintain an accurate parts inventory to support a strong first-time-fix rate.
• Demonstrate and train customers on the proper use of their equipment.
• Support service work on Video products, EAS equipment, and RFID equipment.
• Keep your manager informed about customer satisfaction, recurring issues, and potential sales opportunities.
• Complete additional tasks as needed to support the team and customer needs.
