Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and handle deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will lead customer service, manage scheduling, maintain stock, and ensure policy compliance. The role requires strong communication, organization, and cash control skills with a focus on profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service leadership and cash handling.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating procedures.
• Basic math for cash handling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes for receiving, stocking, rotating merchandise and building displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns and deposits.
• Assist in planogram implementation per Store Manager direction.
• Ensure cash register accountability, deposits and refund/override approvals.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
