Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise store staff, manage merchandising, complete paperwork, and help with deposits to protect company assets.

You will also stock and cashier, train employees, open and close the store part of the week, and ensure compliance with policies while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction. This role requires reliability and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret store policies and diagrams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate POS.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Follow company work processes to manage merchandise, including stocking and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and protect company assets.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
