Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Montrose, PA to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and help train and supervise store associates.

The role requires strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. eligibility for full-time schedule and a competitive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Must read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and keeping records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and organized, including bathrooms, floors, trash and general presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
