Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help keep a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, and daily deposits, while helping maximize profitability and reduce losses.

You will perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties as needed, ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns and documentation.
• Assist with planograms and store presentation according to guidelines.
• Assist in ensuring cash control, refunds/overrides, tills, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
