Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits.

You will also stock, cashier, and perform other duties to maximize profitability and protect assets. You will lead customer service, assist with scheduling and training, maintain planograms, and ensure adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages and stock.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Assist in cashier accountability, cash handling, deposits, and refunds.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
