Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a clean, customer-first store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, and perform stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and protect assets.

The role involves opening/closing the store, scheduling and training employees, and ensuring compliance with policies while maintaining inventory accuracy and security.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training employees and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, display, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and protect assets.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls; handle refunds/overrides.
