Job summary

Family Dollar in Owensboro, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, ensure a clean, well-stocked sales floor, and help supervise and train store associates.

The role emphasizes safety, asset protection, and adherence to company policies while delivering friendly, professional service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
