Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Ames, IA is seeking a Retail Store Processor on a part-time schedule. You will sort, tag, and price donated merchandise and help keep the store organized to meet daily production goals.

Training is provided with paid coaching and opportunities to build retail and customer service skills. The role requires reliable attendance and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic math and computer skills for inventory and checkout.

Responsibilities

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise.
• Help track and report production numbers.
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor.
• Receive trucks and assist with loading/unloading.
• Maintain clean, organized work and storage spaces.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily processing goals.

Pay: $12.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: 25 hours per week, Monday - Saturday, Flexible scheduling required

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We are looking for a motivated, dependable Retail Store Processor to process and prepare donated goods, keep the store organized, and help meet production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise
• Help track and report production numbers
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor
• Receive trucks and assists to load, unload and move product to the correct departments
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces
• Work together with team members to meet daily production goals for merchandise processing and store stock

Training Provided
