Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Iowa City is seeking a part-time Retail Store Processor to sort, tag, and price donated merchandise and keep shelves organized.

You will work about 19 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with paid training and supportive leadership to help you meet daily production goals. This role offers a mission-driven environment and opportunities to build retail and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Preferred: previous retail or thrift store experience.

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We are looking for a motivated, dependable Retail Store Processor to process and prepare donated goods, keep the store organized, and help meet production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise
• Help track and report production numbers
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor
• Receive trucks and assists to load, unload and move product to the correct departments
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces
• Work together with team members to meet daily production goals for merchandise processing and store stock
