Job summary

Family Dollar in Miami is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with day-to-day functions, assist customers, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, merchandise organization, payroll and schedule records, loss prevention, and staff training. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and a commitment to store standards in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns from customers
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling records, and loss prevention
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, floors, trash, and areas
• Other duties as assigned*
