Job summary

Coastal Farm & Ranch in Albany, OR is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily operations, maximize sales, and ensure exceptional customer service across departments.

You will recruit and develop staff, manage payroll and expenses, supervise cash handling, inventory, and safety procedures, and collaborate with district and corporate offices.

The role requires at least 4 years of retail experience, strong communication, and proficiency with POS systems; forklift certification may be needed.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Eagle Browser.
• Experience working in different departments of the store.
• Advanced knowledge of operating a POS system.
• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain and possess valid driver's license and insurance.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately complete paperwork.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and to shift priorities accordingly.
• Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
• Familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.
• Familiar with reading and understanding industry and financial reports.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepare merchandise displays and signage.
• Recruit, train, develop, and communicate with staff and assess performance.
• Supervise associates engaged in sales, inventories, cash handling, and daily records.
• Discipline associates according to company standards.
• Communicate with District Managers and corporate office.
• Plan and prepare work schedules for staff.
• Monitor and order merchandise from the distribution center.
• Ensure compliance with security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality among store associates.
• Attend local fundraising and 4-H events as needed.
• Address, solve, and resolve customer complaints or inquiries.
• Open and close the store, including security duties.
• Manage payroll budget and fiscal responsibilities with corporate office.
• May operate a forklift on occasion; forklift certification obtained on the job.
• Help in departments when needed.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
