Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. You will supervise staff under the Store Manager, handle merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include customer service leadership, scheduling, training, safety meetings, planograms, and cash control. This role requires at least a year in retail with some supervisory experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead by example and manage store operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, rotating, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandising follows standards.
• Ensure cash control through cashier accountability, refunds, overrides, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
