Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising staff, managing merchandise presentation, deposits, and paperwork under the Store Manager's direction.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, planogram implementation, and protecting assets while driving profitability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Basic math including percentages and cash handling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control losses.
• Assist with planograms and product presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
