Job summary

Family Dollar in Mission, SD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and staff development. You will assist with merchandise flow, open/close duties, and adherence to company policies while protecting assets.

Candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and work in a high-energy team environment. Retail experience is preferred and promotion of a safe, welcoming store is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness and presentation.
