Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing procedures, and executing corporate directives while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management or supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Store management experience preferred in retail/grocery/drug store
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom
• Protect company assets including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and store procedures
• Assist Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
