Job summary

Goodwill of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada is seeking an Assistant Retail Store Manager to support Store Manager and Regional Manager across all store operations. You will help maximize donations, pricing, sales and customer service while training staff for advancement to Store Manager.

The role involves coordinating retail flow, maintaining store appearance, enforcing safety, and ensuring fiscal controls and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Sufficient knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting to maintain simple store records.
• Minimum three years’ experience in retail field, and one year in a supervisory capacity, or college graduate.
• Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by the company.
• DOT Strength Classification: Medium.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
• Must not present a direct threat of safety and health to self, others or property.
• No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug use, moral turpitude or predatory behavior in conflict with the functions listed within this job description.
• Must immediately inform Supervisor of any arrests and/or convictions that occur while employed at Goodwill.
• Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Able to perform the duties of the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of proper processing and separation of incoming donations, outlet merchandise and salvage goods if applicable.
• Ensure that the assigned store maximizes used goods processing through the proper application of GISVNN techniques: sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale.
• Production goals are met or exceeded on a consistent basis.
• Ensure maximum sales performance through proper stock rotation, display, signage, and inventory levels.
• Ensure that store meets or exceeds sales goals on a consistent basis.
• Ensure that store is presenting quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all shoppers, donors and employees.
• Assist in affective store operations by opening or closing assigned store as scheduled.
• Assure proper attention to retail floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment.
• Maintain building exterior and parking lot appearance and safety.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly store processing area, good housekeeping and work environment.
• Assist Store Manager in hiring, training, evaluating and managing store personnel.
