Job summary

C-A-L Ranch Stores in Elko, NV is seeking a Manager-on-Duty to oversee daily store operations, support the Store Manager, and promote excellent customer service. You will coordinate promotions, supervise staff, plan schedules, monitor inventory, and control costs to maximize profitability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a retail environment or equivalent.
• Comfort with Eagle Browser and POS systems.
• Experience working across multiple departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to read reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal abilities and leadership aptitude.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
• Familiarity with computers, email, and standard retail concepts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sales promotions and merchandise displays.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff; assess performance regularly.
• Plan work schedules and assign duties to associates.
• Monitor and replenish merchandise from distribution centers.
• Ensure compliance with security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Address customer complaints and inquiries; resolve issues.
• Open/close the store as needed and handle related duties.
• Manage payroll budget and fiscal responsibilities.
• In Manager’s absence, assume duty and make daily operations decisions.
• Operate forklift and dispense propane as required; certifications obtained on the job.
• Support other departments and maintain store cleanliness.
