Job summary

C-A-L Ranch Stores is seeking a Department Leader to supervise Hardlines, Animal Health, Cashier, Clothing/Boots, or Material Handling. You will greet customers, drive product knowledge, and oversee merchandising, signage, and inventory.

You will train associates and act in leadership during scheduled shifts, opening/closing duties, and store meetings. The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability to a fast-changing retail environment while ensuring excellent customer

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a retail environment.
• Experience operating a POS system.
• Experience operating Eagle Browser.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and shifting priorities.
• Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
• Familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and acknowledge them, helping them locate products.
• Oversee daily department operations including merchandising, display, signage, and inventory.
• Train new associates on systems, procedures, and product knowledge.
• Create and implement daily worklists and goals for store associates.
• Step in for Store Manager/Asst. Store Manager when scheduled.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Lead store meetings and pursue store goals/objectives.
• Answer incoming phone calls and maintain radio communications.
• Maintain comprehensive product knowledge and promotions.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, and housekeeping.
