Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store leader to manage all employees in planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling. You will staff, train and evaluate employees, ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.

You will open and close the store, monitor performance and inventory, and enforce cash controls while driving sales and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, and turn) and expense control opportunities.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory issues weekly; follows up on BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise by following defined Company work processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation with proper pricing and signage; maintains accurate inventory levels.
