Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an experienced store leader to manage all store processes, drive staffing, training, and customer service excellence at a busy location. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, and daily operations to meet company standards.

Responsibilities include recruiting and evaluating staff, enforcing safety and cash controls, and ensuring a well‑stocked, clean, and customer‑friendly store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for solutions or counseling.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events.
• Ensures store is staffed and opened/closed each day; opens/closes minimum twice weekly.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented per practices; uses fixtures, pricing and signage.
• Maintains inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensures store is equipped with tools needed to perform tasks.
• Follows SOPs and company communications; ensures compliance.
