Job summary

AutoZone’s Store Management team seeks a Manager in Training (MIT). This transitional role prepares you for Retail Store Management through hands-on assignments, leadership training, and structured learning opportunities.

Completion within 8-12 weeks is possible depending on experience and performance. You’ll develop skills in customer service excellence, staffing, training, and store operations, while progressing toward management openings.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
• Full-time schedule availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Exceptional communication in English; Spanish skills a plus.
• Automotive retail experience or P&L analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing store team.
• Ensure WOW! customer service and operational excellence.
• Manage monthly P&L statements to optimize profitability.
• Support store operations with structured training processes.
• Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees.
• Oversee inventory accuracy and merchandising to drive sales.
