Job summary

Walmart is seeking a leadership-focused supervisor for the Ho ughton, MI area to hire, train, and mentor hourly associates, ensuring stellar customer service and adherence to company standards. The role emphasizes belonging, performance feedback, and teamwork across departments to meet staffing and sales goals.

The position requires 2 years of college or equivalent supervisory experience, with preferred qualifications including a BS in Business Management and Leadership.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
• For facilities that sell firearms, CBC and firearms training may be required.
• Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring of associates; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing associate recognition; communicating expectations consistently and effectively promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
• Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating with all levels of associates regarding store operations and company direction.
• Manages customer service initiatives and ensures customer needs and issues are resolved; drives the financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements and budgeting; monitors merchandising and inventory processes.
