Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a Department Manager to assist the Store Manager in delivering an outstanding customer experience and leading teams across merchandising and operations.

You will help plan initiatives, review performance data, and communicate with associates to improve service and efficiency. The role requires strong leadership, experience with KPIs, and a track record of achieving sales and operational goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing associates to achieve customer service, operational and business goals.
• Experience using KPIs and data insights to identify opportunities and support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a favorable customer shopping experience and strengthen customer service.
• Lead teams in planning and executing merchandising/operating initiatives.
• Communicate results and actions to associates based on Associate Insight survey results.
• Identify store opportunities with department heads and develop timely solutions and action plans.
• Support store performance goals in sales, wage budgets and profit budgets.
• Supervise total store operations in manager’s absence and ensure compliance with policies.
