Job summary

Dollar General Assistant Store Manager is responsible for maintaining a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise employees, manage merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily paperwork.

You will also handle stocking, cashiering, planograms, inventory control, and supporting store operations while protecting assets and driving profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planograms and merchandise presentation as directed.
• Ensure cash control and deposits, refunds, and overrides are properly handled.
• Assist with store coverage in the Store Manager's absence.
