Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store and support the Store Manager with supervision, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits.

This role involves stocking, cashiering, opening/closing, scheduling, training, planograms, inventory control, and stepping in during the Store Manager's absence to protect assets and maximize profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year retail experience with 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow company processes to manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facilities controls.
• Assist with planogram implementation and ensure merchandise presentation per established practices.
• Ensure cash handling integrity: cashier accountability, deposits, and cash controls; sign for refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
