Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandise presentation, deposits, and paperwork, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

The role involves stocking, cashier duties, and ensuring loss prevention while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanning equipment accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer’s purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and display building.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels; control damages and markdowns; process paperwork and deposits.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure proper product presentation per guidance.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposits.
• Assist with store supervision in the Store Manager’s absence.
