Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager's direction. You will supervise employees, manage merchandising, complete paperwork, and assist with deposits.

You will perform stocking and cashiering functions and support store profitability while protecting company assets and reducing losses. This role requires dependable leadership and a focus on high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience with six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy adherence.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, rotating, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and handling damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cash control, refunds, and deposits are handled properly; assist in store security.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
