Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and support the Store Manager in supervising staff and merchandise presentation. The role includes stocking, cashiering, deposits, and safeguarding assets.

The ideal candidate will have retail experience, supervisory exposure, and strong organizational skills to drive profitability and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service leadership and cash handling knowledge.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner and process transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking and displays per planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation according to standards.
• Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, refunds, and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
