Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona seeks a hands-on Retail Store Manager to lead daily sales floor operations at our Hampstead, MD location. You’ll supervise Team Members, manage store performance, and ensure outstanding donor and customer service.

This role oversees payroll and operating costs, drives production and inventory control, and partners with support areas to meet budgets. Travel to other GCNA stores may be required; a strong, mission-driven leader is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• One-year work experience in Retail Management required.
• One-year customer service experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes retail operations plan to hit daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
• Monitors product levels daily to meet bottom line sales budget against targets.
• Controls payroll costs and operating costs to budget.
• Ensures Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
• De-escalates customer situations and resolves issues.
• Maintains store cleanliness and reflects the Goodwill brand.
• Leads day-to-day sales floor operations and trains staff.
• Acts as key holder, closing shift manager, and backup to Store Manager.
• Processes complex sales transactions, including returns.
• Occasionally travels to other GCNA locations for coverage and training.
• Collaborates with Asset Protection, HR, Safety, Finance to meet goals.
• Builds a high-performing team; manages performance and development.
