Job summary

Family Dollar in Albion, NY seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help organize merchandise flow, supervise staff, and ensure clean, well-stocked floors while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Excellent customer service and strong communication are required. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling support, and maintaining promotional displays to meet company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom following company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
