Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store leadership in delivering excellent customer service. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and help with scheduling and training. The role involves stocking, cashier duties, and ensuring store profitability while protecting assets.

You will open/close the store several days weekly, follow company processes, and assist in managing inventory and planograms under the Store Manager's direction.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Attentive to detail and able to manage inventory and cash handling.
• Proficient in completing paperwork, deposits, and planograms.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cashier functions.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for staff.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
