Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store and support the Store Manager with staff supervision and merchandising. You will handle stocking, cashier duties, deposits, and daily paperwork to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

Experience in retail and basic supervisory duties is preferred. The role involves maintaining inventory, ensuring planograms, and leading safety and cash-control practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures.
• Ability to operate cash register and process transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and providing training, plus safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planogram implementation and merchandise presentation as directed.
• Ensure cash integrity and security practices; handle refunds and deposits under supervision.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
