Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Greenville, AL seeks an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations and customer service excellence. You will collaborate with the Store Manager to drive selling, merchandising, scheduling, and staff development, ensuring adherence to policies and internal controls.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel, maintaining inventory awareness, and delivering outstanding service to customers throughout peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assist the Store Manager in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Assure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and be trained in Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Produce and give extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, including helping customers as they enter the store, and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in manuals.
• Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures and informing management of fraud risk.
