Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Northport, AL is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and drive store performance. You will supervise staff, ensure excellent customer service, merchandising, and policy adherence while acting in the Store Manager’s absence when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consults with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities.
• Assist the Store Manager in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provides knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure extraordinary customer service is maintained as per the customer service manual.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold policies, procedures, and standards in the manuals and memos.
