Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries seeks a Retail General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the retail store, including production, stocking, merchandising, inventory control, budgeting, and record keeping.

You will lead the team, set performance expectations, train staff, and ensure smooth donation flow while maintaining safety and security standards. This role requires strong leadership, customer service, and financial oversight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 2–3 years of progressive retail management supervising multiple departments/staff.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail or equivalent industry.
• Experience coaching and developing associates in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures.
• Manage production levels and quality of merchandise for sales floor.
• Control inventory and ensure donation flow adheres to standards, safety, and state laws.
• Set and manage staff schedules; hire and train store employees per policy.
• Monitor payroll and timekeeping; prepare reports and payroll by deadlines.
• Lead customer service and resolve complaints; maintain effective communication across divisions.
• Maintain profitability by analyzing P&L statements and adjusting operations.
