Job summary

Goodwill Store Associates help operate non-management store functions, from accepting donations and processing sales to maintaining a clean, welcoming shopping environment. Under supervision, they assist donors, operate the POS system, stock and price merchandise, and ensure safety and customer service standards are met.

This role typically requires weekend/evening hours and may involve light maintenance tasks and assisting customers with heavy items as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required; 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Students under 18 may be hired part-time but cannot operate hazardous equipment and must follow CT DOL hours rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in store operations including receiving and processing donations and completing POS transactions.
• Display items on the sales floor and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment.
• Assist customers, carry donations to the store, and provide receipts for donations.
• Ensure safety, security, and loss prevention procedures are followed.
