Job summary

Goodwill Store Associate is trained on non-management store operations, assisting in receiving donations, processing sales, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for donors and shoppers. The role emphasizes customer service, proper merchandise handling, and teamwork under store management supervision.

Regular weekend, holiday, and evening hours are typical; you may be required to assist with light maintenance and safety procedures while upholding Goodwill techniques to maximize sales

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required; and 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to communicate with customers in one‑on‑one situations.
• Basic math and measurement skills for merchandise handling and POS transactions.
• Ability to operate hand trucks and other basic material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist shoppers on the sales floor in locating and selecting merchandise.
• Complete sales transactions on the POS system with accuracy.
• Accept donations and provide receipts; help carry items into the store.
• Help customers with carrying items to their vehicles after sale.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming store environment and protect assets.
