Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Store Area Supervisor to oversee daily operations and merchandising in assigned areas. You will ensure smooth freight flow and prioritize exceptional customer experiences under the guidance of a Team Leader.

This role is a development path toward future OSJL leadership positions. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in retail with strong customer service, training, and merchandise handling skills, and are available to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional retail experience.
• Prior customer service, training, and merchandise ordering experience preferred.
• Computer skills: Google Workspace (Email, Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Qlik.
• Availability for nights and weekends; must be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to diverse clientele.
• Bridge customer issues between store and corporate customer service.
• Promote company initiatives (donations, loyalty programs, promotions).
• Create effective work schedules for the assigned area.
• Guide and support team to complete tasks and stay motivated.
• Assist in training store associates for growth across levels.
• Manage merchandise presentation according to company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate signage and ticketing; manage backroom stock and floor flow.
• Verify pricing; report errors and perform daily manifest checks.
• Handle packaways, returns, transfers, and recalls per policy.
• Uphold store safety and maintenance standards.
• When designated, supervise opening/closing procedures.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies.
