Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Retail Shift Supervisor for the Brentwood store (Manchester team). The role leads staff, delivers outstanding customer service, and ensures smooth daily operations in a mission-driven environment.

The position includes a monthly bonus up to $500, comprehensive benefits for full-time employees, and opportunities for advancement within a values-driven organization. Must be able to supervise and train staff effectively.

Qualifications

• No degree is required; HS diploma/GED preferred.
• 1 year of retail management or Goodwill retail/warehouse experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills incl. customer service, conflict resolution, teamwork.
• Leadership skills: decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, problem solving.
• Comfortable with registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train staff; ensure they perform primary functions.
• Provide superior customer service to ensure donor/shopper retention and de-escalate issues.
• Coach employees; discipline up to termination.
• Assign daily duties to meet operational tasks.
• Identify employees for advancement based on performance.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct.
• Read and enforce agency policies and values.
• Utilize staffing methods; arrange replacements; audit payroll.
• Eliminate waste through process improvements.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus up to $500.
