Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. seeks a Training Specialist to develop Product Sales Specialists and ensure customers receive exceptional service and informative product guidance. You will lead certification courses, reinforce core retail principles, and support showroom merchandising and processes.

The role emphasizes coaching, safety, and accurate product placement, with a focus on delivering a superior customer experience in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner that is consistent with company’s core values.
• Demonstrate understanding and compliance with safe lifting practices SOPs.
• Drive and teach the company philosophy around the basic P’s of retail.
• The basic P’s of retail include: People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing.
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure attentive and accurate customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Demonstrate understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure merchandising, pricing and organization of the department.
• Communicate SOP direction and changes to all associates promptly.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist processing of merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate all product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner.
• Assist customers with product questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using the POS system.
• Process customer refunds and exchanges per guidelines.
• Present ‘how-to’ classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check and card acceptance procedures.
• Answer the telephone per guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays; create price tags and signs.
