Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership role to plan, direct and supervise team members across departments, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service, achieving sales goals and maintaining company standards.

You will mentor staff, manage staffing needs and drive performance, ensuring safe, efficient operations during peak hours with opportunities for advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Ability to mentor team members across roles including hourly staff and supervisors.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development, participate in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach the team to exceed sales goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensure the team is trained and completed all required training.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
