Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising employees and coordinating activities across departments.

You will ensure prompt, friendly service, manage schedules, and address customer issues while upholding store policies and safety standards. In this role, you will lead by example, train staff in department procedures, and oversee merchandising, payroll basics, and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise across departments and lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile.
• Lead by example and maintain positive employee relations, creating an atmosphere of friendliness, teamwork, and accountability throughout the store.
• Plan, prepare, and adjust work schedules, assign employees to specific duties, and follow up to ensure tasks are completed properly and on time.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of employees across all areas of the store in the Department Manager's absence, or perform the work necessary at all job levels.
• Train workers in store policies, department procedures, and job duties and provide ongoing education for employees on updated policies and procedures.
• Handle cash registers and related transactions and safety procedures with discretion.
