Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to keep the store running smoothly by supervising employees across departments, ensuring prompt, friendly service, and strong operations.

You will lead by example, manage schedules, handle customer issues, oversee merchandising and compliance, and train staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will supervise multiple departments, improve team performance, and uphold Hy-Vee standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service to ensure a positive visit.
• Lead by example to maintain positive employee relations and foster a customer-focused store culture.
• Plan and adjust work schedules, assign duties, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Supervise store operations and assist in the Department Manager's absence as needed.
• Address customer issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Train staff on store policies, procedures, and new guidelines; provide ongoing education.
• Evaluate staff performance and support promotions or transfers when appropriate.
• Enforce safety policies to maintain a safe work environment; handle incident reporting as needed.
• Oversee merchandise orders, deliveries, quality checks, and discrepancies.
• Manage displays and inventory to meet store demands and quality standards.
• Maintain payroll understanding and basic payroll data accuracy.
